Cunderdin Trades Training

TAFE Lecturer Mr Jim Boston, travels to Cunderdin District High School each Thursday throughout the school year to instruct students from both Cunderdin and Kellerberrin District High Schools.

With many years of instruction under his belt Mr Boston is just the right person to deliver the ‘Certificate 1 in Trades Assistant’ course to the 15 students he has in his class.

Several of the units of competence the students complete are based around skills such as using hand tools, following workplace safety arrangements and assisting with routine maintenance of machinery and equipment, all of which are very important skills to cover.

Over the course of the year the students produce some fabulous and original pieces. Several of the boys are also working on overhauling the engine of a 4 cylinder car that was donated to the school.
